Our winning entry for “Painter of the Year” 2006 was the complete restorative redecoration of the HBOS headquarters in Edinburgh. Our team of highly skilled craftsmen worked over a six month period restoring this historic building to its original splendour (yet the overall appearance in some aspects of the building is one of comfortable modernisation especially in the main office areas housing HBOS staff). |

The Grange, Ramsgate, Kent |

The former home of renowned architect Augustus Pugin, which he designed and built for himself. The building was almost derelict when Landmark Trust instructed our company to undertake this brave decorative restoration and of course they insisted that every detail must be as near to that of Pugin’s original gothic revival design as possible. Indeed, even the original pattern of the brightly coloured wallpaper, shown here in the drawing room, was recreated by hand at great expense. |

The former home of Lord Provost Bain and was used to entertain Ulysses S Grant the American president and the Prince of Wales. The original scheme was discovered beneath old wallpaper, traced down and the stencilling was redone in 23 ½ gold leaf on a Prussian blue graduated background. The original scheme is still present but protected with lining paper over which the new decoration was applied.

Probably the finest Georgian church in Glasgow and was originally decorated to the highest order. The scheme today shows only the gilded areas due to cost and time constraints. The space is now used as a theatre and open to the public. |

Norton House Hotel |

Formerly the home of Lord Usher, (former owners of the family brewers, Ushers), this is an exact copy of the ceiling, which had started to breakdown and is still underneath the existing paintwork. This work was carried out while the hotel was owned by Richard Branson. Line work stencil work and gilding were all carried out. |

An ashlar scheme was uncovered during a paint investigation and was faithfully recreated. Only part of the original decoration survived after being bombed during World War 2. Only one wall was re-done to show the effect, which can be achieved by simple line work. A Guilloche stencil was applied to window reveals. |

This scheme was uncovered during a paint research in 2003 and lottery funding was obtained. The work commenced in 2005 and involves gold leaf stencils, signwriting and free hand brushwork. |
